Several departments from U of T campuses have come together to present a panel of speakers to discuss the media's portrayal of the Tamil-Canadian protests that took place in Toronto this spring.
The event brings together a range of experts and voices to discuss how the protests were potrayed by the edia, and how these representations tell us somethig about Canadian multiculturalism. This panel is organized with the understanding that the portrayal of the protets affects all Canadians, not only Tamil-Canadians.
SAVAC will briefly introduce their next project: a series of workshop examining the 2009 protests.
Everyone is welcome to attend and admission is free. Seating is limited however, so RSVP is recommended.
