SAVAC Programming members (l-r) Tazeen Qayyum, Riaz Mehmood, Rachel Kalpana James, Cyrus Irani, Nadia Kurd, Mona Kamal, and Rashmi Varma participate in a photographic intervention playing on the mythology of Canada’s Group of Seven.

The intervention features members posed in a reconstruction of the iconic 1920 Group of Seven portrait by Arthur Goss. This project reexamines the formation and branding of artist collectives as well as their role in the history of Canadian art.

The image will be distributed around Toronto in various locations until the New Year.
