"Why Should I Apply for a Grant" an OAC workshop

SAVAC has collaborated with the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) to host a professional development session for its members and the larger SAVAC community on Saturday, October 30th from 1 to 4 pm at 401 Richmond.
Conducted by OAC officers Lisa Wöhrle, Associate Visual and Media Arts Officer; and Bushra Junaid, Outreach and Development Manager & Access and Career Development Program Officer along with personal anecdotes by artists Aneela Dias-D'Souza and Samina Mansuri.
In this workshop you will learn about:
- The value of grant writing and applying for grants
- The breadth and range of grants offered by OAC
- How to access grants
- Eligibility
- The assessment process
- Different ways to participate as an artist: community arts (Artist(s) in the Community/Workplace program); arts education (Artist(s) in Education and Arts Education Projects programs); professional development (Access and Career Development, Chalmers Professional Development, and, Chalmers Arts Fellowships programs); and, residencies (National and International Residency and Ontario/Quebec Residency programs), etc.
